Available Position:
Environmental Inspector
We are seeking self-motivated, honest, reliable individuals who enjoy working independently to provide services that help our clients live and work in healthy environments. A background in construction, energy efficiency or weatherization is a major plus. However, if you have good client interaction skills, the ability to learn processes and a familiarity with hand-tools we will provide training and provide company paid certification!
There is also potential for growth into the other lines of the business and we provide benefits.
As an Environmental Inspector you will inspect homes and commercial buildings for indoor air quality, asbestos, lead paint, worker exposure and mold. This requires using equipment, entering data, and generating reports. Excellent organization and time management skills are a must.
To be successful, you must have good written and verbal communication skills for interaction with clients, labs and regulatory organizations.
Other key factors for success:
- Sharing our commitment to integrity and quality service
- The ability to pass a pre-exposure medical examination and respirator fit test for times when personal protective equipment is necessary.
- While not a mandatory requirement, background in building construction, energy efficiency, or weatherization is a plus. Experience or certification in environmental and hazardous materials testing is not required.
- Proficiency with word processing and general computer skills for data management, documentation, report writing and sending/responding to emails. Our inspectors generally handle 8 to 11 jobs per week and keeping up with report due dates is essential.
- Basic math and calculator skills to calculate area, volume and time durations.
- Washington Driver’s License (required) and the ability to be insured on our auto policy.
- The ability to use a ladder and perform inspections in attics and crawlspaces.
- The ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
- The ability to travel to different sites around Washington using a company vehicle with the possibility of overnight trips on a limited basis (majority of jobs are in Western Washington).
Due to the nature of the position and our customers, a background check, driving record check and credit check will be required after the offer of employment.
